We sat down with FDX Practitioner Mark Bennett to discover how our revolutionary blood and health reports have been supporting his practice throughout the Lockdowns of the past year. You can watch the video of our discussion below or keep scrolling to read the blog version.
How was Mark Bennett’s Practice impacted by Lockdown?
There’s a widespread assumption that the challenges we all faced over the past year were “bad for business”, but that doesn’t seem to be the case from Mark’s experience. His Practice not only didn’t have a sudden dip in business, but he also actually experienced an increase in business.
Adapting your Practice to challenges like Lockdown
Rather than sitting there thinking, “so, what should I do next?” it’s important to adapt quickly. Mark’s first step was to move all his consultations online. He also made the decision to upgrade his offering to include FunctionalDX blood and health reporting.
I’m always looking for ways to improve my clinical practice, and what I deliver to clients. I like to understand what’s really going on biochemically in an individual. In order to try and explain why they may have a particular condition and to build the most appropriate intervention in order to try and achieve their health goals.

As practitioners, it’s our job to do everything we can to help our clients achieve their health goals. Having used various other panels previously, Mark made the decision to switch to FDX when he saw the depth and breadth of the panels on offer.
I was really impressed with the detail of the information coming back and the algorithms that are used. The advice that the report provides in terms of key systems and functional systems that may be out of balance is extremely valuable.

Giving your clients the bigger picture
Never has your clients’ bigger picture, innate resilience and health goals been more important. As a practitioner, you’ll already appreciate that looking solely at one marker, in isolation, is fundamentally flawed. Each case is all about context; something FDX blood and health reporting provides in an easy to apply way. An example Mark gives is in the case of an elevated cholesterol level, there are so many potential factors. In terms of HDL, is the HDL high enough to be beneficial? And what about LDL? And what about triglycerides? And what about insulin resistance? What about fasting glucose and fasting insulin and the estimated average glucose? All of these markers are key in terms of providing context to your clients’ picture of health.
You’ve got to interpret the data within the context of the client. And then you get the best possible chance of using that data intelligently to achieve the results you want to achieve.
